The Rainforest

Day 405

Franz Josef to Wanaka

At the bottom of the valley a rainforest, at the top....a glacier. Really demonstrates how amazingly diverse New Zealand's climate is.

What a beautiful bus journey today, we had several stops to get some pics. We also played a little game down by a river. It's called 'B*tch Throwing. Pick a stone up with your non-throwing hand, and throw it into the river. Everybody throws a stone like a right girl!

When we arrived in Wanaka the sun was still shining. So it was straight into swimmies and down to Lake Wanaka. To be honest though, it doesn't matter how hot the sun is....it's not going to warm a glacial lake very fast! Still we did manage to top up our tans!
