Oak Apple
A growth on a young oak tree.
Irregularly shaped buffish brown gall on oak caused by larva of gall wasp Biorhiza pallida. Adults emerge in June and July, each gall containing a single sex. Subsequent asexual generation develops in spherical galls on oak roots.
