Newest aquisition

I bought this on ebay. It's something used in watch making. I just like the brass and fine detail. It's actually quite small and delightfully intricate.

UPDATE: I have since discovered that it is 19th century depthing tool. Depthing tools are used to establish the distance between centers for a wheel engaging a pinion...apparently.
