Dinner decisions

We have been invited over to dinner with a friend on Saturday night after going to thier local firwork display.
Have said I will bring the puddig over. Only problem is what to choose.
Too many cook books and so little time.
Good job a walk in planned for Sunday with their 18 month old lab.
