Half done!!

Today half the bosc pears I bought last week in Roseburg were ripe enough to bottle. If you have never canned pears, you don't know how slippery and difficult they can be, especially if they are little! But these pears were wonderful--very juicy and flavorful, and VERY big so peeling went quickly.

Tomorrow I will do the other half!

There was snow/frozen rain falling out of the grey skies today. I had to replenish my wood supply! I'm sitting in my warm kitchen now, ready to eat dinner, and then REST!
