umbrella hallway

it doesn't rain very often here, but when it rains, it pours.

during lunch, i went to a meeting with government officials. although i cannot quite tell, i hope that my chinese is improving. i was able to understand most of their lecture, so hopefully that means something. 

recently i have met students outside my program, so i had dinner with people from england and italy.
