Game On
For about a year, once the bandwagon caught the trailblazers, everything was about gamification.
Achievements for this. Trophies for that. Gain a level for effort. Get a badge for effort that meets approval. Score points for everything.
I like games. Truth be told I am almost a gamer. But mastery is not achieved with tickets. Excellence is not a function of the 90% failure, 10% luck gamer method. And the problem with gamification is not that games don't work. The problem is that it's not the games that work, it's their design.
Stop turning *everything* into a game.
Oh, and please, if you must ignore that request, at least pick a better word!
