C. Century. Centurion. Centimetre. Centigrade. Boiling water. "A hundred percent, Brian". Dial 100 for the operator, please. The First Hundred Days. 100 Days of Sodom. That incandescent, brighter-than-bright, hundred-watt lightbulb moment. He never knew when a number would speak to him. He could never tell in advance, it was just something that did, or didn't happen. There was one thing he had noticed though, usually it was numbers that sat alone. It could happen when he saw numbers and words together, but it was much rarer that way. Somehow a number on its own was more pure and more powerful.
