Up on the Rooftop
This morning my husband called to me, me on the floor doing some yoga, that a heron was perched on Carolyn's roof - I took this through the window so as not to scare it off as on a houseboat dock everything is quite close. He was mostly looking down at the canal beneath him for fish I suppose, or crawdads?
Then we went off to hear Adam Gopnik, a favorite New Yorker writer, talk quickly (that man can really move thoughts and sentences out of his head into the air at lightening speed) and sign our copies of his just released book, The Table Comes First (one is a Christmas gift!). So great to live in a city where we can do such things.
The P Patch clean up was lovely too, but the heron got the day.
