There's a new supermarket proposed for Bath, slightly out of the centre, close to an immense and well established Sainsbury's and also a proud local community (where I grew up) with plenty of independent shops. In all honesty, the local opposition to Tesco isn't strong enough to have much impact. I hope that all the smaller shops continue to thrive as they have done until now.
