Bonfire night is always enjoyed in our house. This year we had all the ids and our good friend Lucy and Paddy came from Manchester with their kids too.

Earlier in the day we had been to the Ahston Memorial to set light to mini bonfires and toast marshmallows as part of the events held by the local council. The weather was glorious and the views from the Memorial are just stunning.

Later we walked to the Millenium Bridge to joint the throngs of people watching the Castle fireworks. What a show! All the more enhanced by flass of hot chocolate for the kids and mulled wine for the adults. The walk home was spurred on with the promise of sparklers...

A house full of kids and adults is quite do-able I find, given plenty of wine for the adults and treats for the kids! Hopefully at least some of the 7 kids will remember it for years to come.
