Unexpected lunch guest

I cooked a roast chicken for Ann Brady today and as a gift she brought me a pot plant from the Farmers Market.

It was only when I moved the plant to my mantelpiece that I noticed it had a hitch-hiker.

The tiny little snail wandered across my table in a bemused manner until Ann picked it up and put it on the hedge outside.
