See you in a little while

So the day has arrived. Today I fly to Africa for the experience of a lifetime. At this precise moment I am sat on a coach heading to Heathrow to get my plane. This morning, in typical last minute fashion, I was still packing everything you see in the photo into my bag half an hour before I was due to leave the house.

After an emotional farewell to my family at the bus station, we hit the road and my adventure officially began.

I am both excited and terrified.
