New friends

One of the unexpected pluses of being on Twitter is that I have got to meet several new friends over the last few months. This time it was my turn to play host to the newly weds Ant (Pontycyclops) & Dawn.

If you follow Ant's journal you will know that he has been having some back problems since the wedding and we were rather worried that our planned tweetup might not happen. But, thankfully, he has soldiered on. This afternoon they visited the town where I live and we met up for coffee and cake.

Then this evening I went down to Thorpeness to have dinner with them and a couple of other Twitter contacts at the Dolphin Inn. It was a delicious meal and the company excellent.

You may also know that they have a certain affection for ducks so when I saw this duck at the Henham Steam Rally I just HAD to buy it for them. They have kindly agreed to call it Westwood in honour of my Twitter name.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with them again to visit Minsmere, though the weather isn't looking that great. But Minsmere is worth a visit whatever the weather.
