Remember, Remember...
My brain has some sort of optimistic preferential setting. I think anyway: If you were to ask me what the weather was like in Scotland in the summer of 2008 [the last time I was here for an entire Scottish summer], I would tell you that it was a beautiful few months of sunny weather. On the flip side, I can also bully my mind into recalling countless days where the floor of the deli that I worked at for the summer being covered in cardboard because of all the rainwater rolling off the punter's jackets. I don't seem to be able to process negative information about anything, and retain it for much longer than it actually happens.
So when people complain about "November weather", I'm always a little bit nonplussed, as this is the sort of day that springs to my mind when someone mentions the eleventh month of the year. Maybe this year we shall be lucky and my skewed memory of events will actually represent what happened. So plenty more cold, crisp, beautiful days like this please.
