A bit of twitching on a Sunday
Mr Crafty is justified in giving himself the title of "eagle eye" today. He spotted this bird in one of the trees at the bottom of the garden at Crafty Towers this afternoon. After 2 minutes of rushing round lifting cameras, tripod, lenses and binoculars we were set up in front of an open window in the spare room waiting for the bird to swoop / take off / do something vaguely exciting whilst googling birds of prey native to Scotland in an attempt to figure out what kind it was. We settled on Peregrine Falcon (very happy for an expert to deny or confirm).
Approx one hour later I retreated from in front of the window to get some heat leaving Mr Crafty in charge of the camera remote. Somewhat predictably, within 2 minutes it had spotted a juicy snack on the ground and swooped. The final pictures include a very fuzzy bird in one and the tip of it's wing in another as it headed towards the ground at great speed. Makes a welcome change from squirrel pictures.
