Fields and ponds, Woking

The boys, their girlfriends and my in-laws joined us for Sunday dinner today: roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Two of the boys live away now and one is at university but they will still travel to enjoy their mum's cooking.

It was a birthday party for son Robert, now 25. When asked what he wanted he'd said a penguin. So we bought him a penguin and a Kindle. The penguin is called Geoffrey.

It was a nothing sort of a day but I took the Jack Russell, Pippa, out for a walk in an area of farmland that has been landscaped adjacent to the Basingstoke canal. This is one of the fishing ponds. Perhaps, now that I've mentioned it, you would have preferred to see the penguin but I'm afraid that blip opportunity has passed. He took the penguin with him.
