Sao Lorenzo
Over night it had cleared and we woke up to a bright blue sky. We decided to drive down to Sao Lorenzo to go on our first hiking tour. It was rather interesting how dry it was out here ... compared to the other parts of the island.
It was a fun hike, not too difficult despite the sun and heat.
In the evening we went back to Rosario to have another one of those beef skewers. They were just too good to pass up :) We were surprised to see most of the meat being gone already. We went back to the same stand as yesterday. It was a fun night. Not only got we chatting to the guy at the stand but also met some Portuguese who had lived in London for over a decade before moving back to madeira to enjoy their retirement.
The little village was all lit up and filled with zillions of people. The atmosphere was great. Unfortunately we were a little tired and starting to get cold which meant we headed back to our hotel before the big concert.
