Rolling In
Mist rolled in very soon after I'd got up this morning - disappeared for an hour or so around lunchtime to reveal another glorious day.... Then as I waited for a few minutes to see if our local robin would come for the food it's just discovered, it rolled back in again. I liked the effect. Hanging out the bedroom window again!
I just realised yesterday's photo was uploaded wrongly.... I'd done an edited version which I liked even more, but hadn't saved it. It is now saved, but since the photo got such a good reaction, I'll leave it as it is on blip! Thanks for all your very kind comments on the last 4 - I've been very pleased with them!
Heard an interesting story today from the world of football. A Doncaster Rovers player, Billy Sharp, sadly lost his baby son a few days after he was born. He has since played a couple of games and scored in both. On Saturday, he helped his team win away against Ipswich, and when substituted he received a standing ovation - from the Ispwich fans.
Contrast that with a veteran manager talking about how the chanting he hears from the fans is more hate-filled now than ever. We may have pretty much got rid of hooliganism from football in the UK, but it doesn't mean attitudes have really changed much. Interesting how football gives a little picture of human life. Capable of compassion and graciousness, yet at the same time capable of vitriol, abuse and violence....
