Darkness Falls

When you close your eyes
things seem much brighter
as soon as you open them
you want to close them tighter

Nothing can be seen
you jump at the slightest sound
even though there's nobody
not even one person around

Whenever i'm in the dark
and I feel someone's presence
I can tell that they're there
because of the vibrations

I turn myself around
and swat into the air
but nothing is around me
nothing but space, bare

This time i know I hear something
far away in the distance
a voice, one calling into the night

it echoes in my ears
as if my brain was a canyon
but all that comes through me is fright

It's catching up, and getting close
because it's getting louder
and than it bounces of my ear drum
and fades away, into the darkness

a beam of light comes through
out of the shadowy stream
and the sun rises again
it was only just a dream
