The Salt well.

I think this is where Saltwell Park got it's name.

It's not working these days but it used to be a well. The inscription is dated 1872. They have restored so much of the park it would have been nice if this had been renovated too - even just for the dogs to have a drink out of.

I'm sure some sort of health and safety legislation prevents it being used!!!
