Poppy wars

I am finding myself quite irritated by the apparent competition between BBC presenters at the moment as to who has the biggest and gaudiest poppy. This morning, weather presenter Carol had a huge sequinned poppy. Made me feel a bit ill to be honest. What is it they think they are wearing the poppy for? Is it for remembrance or is just an attention seeking exercise?

If you want to have some sort of poor taste competition then use something else.
