Dad and junior

This a baby Downy woodpecker (on the right) and his Papa on the left. Dad was feeding him but I wasn't ready for that shot. It seems we have a lot of mating pairs and every spring we get at least one with a baby, sometimes more. They're a pretty friendly lttle bird...not too shy. They're used to us being around and are even a little demanding when their suet runs low.
