ZooBombing
When I moved to Portland last year, I noticed these bicycles chained together while wondering downtown. Initially, I thought it was an artistic statement, but upon further inquiry, I learned these bicycles have a long history. Evidently, once a week a group of people meet at this pile of "souped-up" children's bicycles. They then take the MAX (light rail system in Portland) up to the zoo and ride the bicycles down the hill. This practice is affectionately referred to as "zoobombing." I had completely forgotten about "zoobombing" until I saw a clip at the BBC website. Below is a hyperlink if interested in viewing. It's another activity that keeps Portland funky.
