Putting on the Ritz
A glam evening this evening. Piped in to the Marine hotel to be greeted by a Champagne reception, speeches from local councillors and the Undersecretary for Rural Affairs, an amazing 3 course meal, free booze, rounded off by coffee, handmade Brodies Chocolates, a 'wee dram' of 12 year Glenkinchie Malt and...erm...Oh what was the other thing?
Ah yes! The 'Best Restaurant Meal' award. Big smiles and hugs had by all. In all a great evening.
However, I have an intolerance to Blackcurrants (sickness, migraine, skin rash) and managed to ingest them both in what I thought was Sparkling Rose (Blackcurrant Liquer with Champagne) and the handmade chocolates. Realised before having too much of either and got a free BOWL of normal chocolate truffles as the kitchen was unable to confirm if they were Blackcurrant Truffles seeing as they were a gift.
Also a great excuse for shaking the dust off my LBD and heels...
