Some time ago, I read an article about fake £1 coins. I was staggered by the number of coins that were thought to be counterfeit, and since then I've become a bit obsessed by them. Today I had five coins in my purse, all with the same inscription on the side, however, when you line them up you can clearly see that the font of two of them looks different to the other three.

When I'd finished photographing them, I checked whether the years matched the designs and inscriptions. I had one coin which showed the Royal Coat of Arms and the motto DECUS ET TUTAMEN, but the coin was dated 2010 which the website says is incorrct.

I hope I don't turn you all into counterfeit coin obsessives too!
