Mother-of-pearl

Many years ago, one of my daughters bought this plate in Egypt and brought it home as a gift for me. It has a diameter of 36 cm (about 14 inch) and is made of turned wood. The intricate pattern is inlaid with mother-of-pearl. An amazing piece of handicraft. I have it hanging on my bedroom wall. It is the last thing I see when I go to bed, and the first thing that catch my eyes in the morning. A thing of beauty is a joy forever!
