This is Kade with his best friend Claire. Claire is the daughter of my best friend Kath.

Kath and Claire came up for a visit tonight then we wandered over the road to McDonalds.

When Claire was a toddler she had a bad asthma attack the results of which she was starved of oxygen to the brain leading to severe learning disabilities.

Claire is 17 next week and to see her and Kade together is brilliant. Because of her mental age and the fact that Kade has grown up with her they get on brilliantly. They're very close and one minute they're playing like kids while the next he will jump up on her knee for a cuddle like in this shot.
