St. Martin

111111, the ultimate St. Martin's Day, brings back memories of lanterns, candy and rainy nights outside. It's the innocent kind of trick or treating: children sing a song about St. Martin (preferable in local dialect) before they get their reward. Unfortunately the tradition is extinct here in Rotterdam.

This picture is taken at 5.30 PM, usually the time we started walking. I edited it to sepia in honor of Eugène Atget - went to see an exhibition on his photographs of Paris with my fellow photo geek Wolf Journal ;-)
