Do you like Blackberries?
Oh the mirth.
Imagine liking such a thing :-)
I nearly blipped no.2 son, gormlessly chomping, covered in purple stains. But despite no.1 son being the larger rascal of the day, he wins the cute smile competition!
Frustrating day. Grr. It appears you cannot buy a child's shoe boot in an 'H' fitting, without scouring the length and breadth of the country and dragging a small child with you. OK, I acknowledge the majority of the population are not too bothered about this, but I AM. Yesterday I noticed a mark on no.2 son's foot where his shoes are rubbing. I whisked him off to the shoe shop discovering, to my delight, that he has abnormally wide feet (FYI - my feet are dainty, it's Mr CleanSlate that's in the frame here*) Blah blah, boring story.. but I've been sent from one shop to another, no.2 martyr has had his feet measured by 4 different shops before the only 9.5H boot in the land was proclaimmed to 'fit'**
Anyway, hardly got anything else done. And got fleeced in a supposedly cheap greengrocers. Although, bought blackberries, which has given me the Blip :-)
Now I feel mean for grumbling, the littlest rascal and I have actually had a nice day. Leaving the house for shop no.1 I decided I wouldn't need the pushchair, obviously not anticipating the jaunt ahead, so he's walked everywhere and been so excited about everything he's seen. There was a man playing jazz on Market Street in Manchester that he was totally mesmerised by. We had a lovely lunch in Next too. I really pushed the boat out ;-) And he was so good, people were actually staring and pointing - IN A GOOD WAY! That never happens usually with my children! And although we had to rush like totally crazy people, we made it to swimming where he's now so confident and happy. Following the Grand Old Duke of York*** the teacher said, 'You should have seen his facial expression, it would have made a lovely photo for someone!' Yes. For me. Do you not know I'm a blipper???? <smiles politely and nods>
*Disclaimer: I actually do have size 7 feet <hangs head in shame> but they are (relatively) slender!
**Am I chanelling Cinderella sufficiently?
*** Feel my pain people. SO they marched him up to the top of the hill.... Lifting 3 stone child above head ..... groan
