Down Mexico way

After many years with out plumbing problems not counting all of the upgrades during the remodel, an old pipe in the kitchen floor bursts. Our Mexican helper Tony went right at it with hammers, chisels and a shovel to find the leak. Of course there is no way to turn off the hot water seperate from the cold, (the leak was in the hot water} without shutting off the whole house. The first order of operations included installing a shut off valve on the water heater... first problem solved and now we have cold water. Tony and another helper nearly finished the plumbing fix today... they'll return tomorrow and hopefully complete that part then on to repair the floor tile. Aren't retirement homes a lot of fun work.
