Day forty-nine: sweet home Alabama
My dad is in town this weekend to visit me ... and watch Alabama beat MSU. So, we went out to Tuscaloosa today to go see the Bear Bryant Museum and the University of Alabama...which is where his parents met and fell in love.
I have only been on UA's campus twice, but each time, I have imagined my grandparents meeting and falling in love. My grandmother died this year, so she and Grandpa are reunited again, after 12 years apart.
I think that family is very important, and I am thankful for this time with my family. Now that I live in the South, and so far away from family, I appreciate my time with loved ones that much more. I got to spend time alone with my mom two weeks ago, and I get to spend time alone with my dad this weekend. Next weekend, I will be flying back home to El Paso...and then next month I get to see my dad again. That's just pretty grand!
Life is short and spending time with your loved ones is important.
I have been wanting to take pictures of the beautiful fall leaves for a couple of weeks, and today I seized the day while I was on UA's beautiful campus.
Seize the moment and enjoying time with your family/loved ones = wholeness
