The Festival kicks off officially from the "open stage" (back of a lorry) with Sharon Shannon! Quite a feat for a wee village to have such a big name (international accordion player, renowned for her collaborations across genres). M & I watched her show in the wee village hall and reminisced about how it must have been in mum's day with the dances (boys on one side, girls on the other), etc...
