Viva la vida (or Death and all his friends)
A bit of a desperation blip today. Between work, afternoon swim, home to cook and a very exciting "Apprentice" final I had to resort to this...at least it's better than nothing!
On another note, I finally listened to the new Coldplay album on myspace today..fantastic!!!!!! It is so different from what they have done in the past, yet so very Coldplay. I've missed them (I know, I'm very sad....). And I am so happy that I managed to get a ticket for their gig in Manchester in december..whoowhoo! Off to the show tomorrow in my lunch break to buy the album.
My song quote today is the song that got stuck in my head for the whole of today. It's not that it's on tv that much now (it's on the ad for iTunes or Apple...you know what I mean) but it's such a powerful song. I've been humming it all day long.
Good night everyone.
Chris
"I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sweep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand
I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world "
