Gavia Immer
A close up shot of a regular visitor to the inshore waters of Caithness, a Great Northern Diver. In relative terms they are quite rare however the Northern hinterlands of the Highlands see more than there fair share of them. They spend their summer in Iceland and winter in Scotland mainly.
This one was perched in the local museum. After a wild night of work a restful day and a gentle run this evening thanks to my Petzl headtorch.
