Long journey

is about to start I think.
What a day.
Up at 7.30
Post office at 8.15 to collect parcels.
In Prestwich by 9 for a course.
Bury for lunch and conflab about course at 1.45
Left Bury at 2.45 and headed up to Shap.
Got to Shap Wells Hotel at 4.30
Dropped off wedding book, flyers and business cards, got back in the car and started driving home.
Needed coffee and wanted to try and capture the beautiful scenery before the light went completely so I stopped at Killington Lake services on the southbound M6. Grabbed a gingerbread latte and went Lakeside to take some shots (fortunately camera and tripod were in the boot!)
Home by 6.30pm
200 miles.
Long day.

Interesting though and a comment from someone who's professional and personal opinion I value above all others brought me close to tears, in completely the right way, with a heartfelt question about why I am not pursuing my other passion (photos, not teaching). To get some validation from that person and some very honest conversation was so valuable.

So we'll see if anything starts to come from it now.

In the meantime, I'll juggle my two passions, because the course this morning has made me realise that there is still so much to do, and that I can contribute. I have realised my worth in many respects today and feel somewhat invigorated, mentally, professionally, personally - despite being physically knackered.

I love teaching, I love making a difference to the lives of young people. Whilst I still feel this way, I know I will always find a reason to stay IN the teaching profession - because it is an honourable and valuable job and I, along with my colleagues, have so much to give. There is no reason though why I can't also pursue my other passion and talent.

I'm ok at juggling, so pass me the balls please....
