Nae day sae dark
Nae day sae dark; nae wüd sae bare;
Nae grund sae stour wi' stane;
But licht comes through; a sang is there;
A glint o' grass is green.
Wha hasna thol'd his thorter'd hours
And kent, whan they were by,
The tenderness o' life that fleurs
Rock-fast in misery?

Back to the metropolis today to visit work and do a touch of shopping. This sculpture is bang in the middle of the High Street and I have to admit, I didn't know the story behind it until researching for this blip. :-(
I managed to buy the kilt belt, buckle required for the nephew's 21st present in the "Sporran shop", the best in Scotland according to Billy Connelly and Samuel L Jackson and who wants to argue with them?
