A couple of his books feature what spends the first few pages being a friendly-looking goofy-toothed crocodile which is then adapted into a pointy-toothed starey-eyed pop-up crocodile on the final pages, which he was slightly wary of ages ago but to which he recently developed into a slightly more emphatic head-shake and back-away reaction. Despite this he still insisted on pointing at the box some of the more delicate books were kept in and making the 'crocodile' gesture, only to then do the head-shake back-away scared-face thing, though further habituation throughout the day got him over it. In further highly interesting toddler-development news he now seems able to tell us when he requires under-cleansing.
