Retail outing....

but with a bit of a forest/lake hike first!

We had a great night last night, altho as usual, i faded way before anyone else....headed to bed around midnight, the rest of the gang stayed till around 2am!!! The tattie soup and cheese and onion bread was a great success! Not to mention the very delicious birthday cake!!!

But I needed to get out of the house and so we headed up to Sydney with the long list of shopping items we needed/wanted! but first we stopped at Dalem Lake, just off the highway on the way to Sydney. It was beautiful, and took us about an hour to walk all the way around the lake. There were many places that were a bit tricky - lots of puddles and deep muddy places! I managed to get my left foot totally submerged, up past the ankle, at one point, and spent the next hour or two with very soggy boots and the lower part of my jeans wet and kinda dirty looking! First stop was Walmart, get new socks!!! Had a very successful trip to the wonderful world of Value Village....and felt pretty happy with my purchases!

Now for dinner, a glass or 2 of wine and a quiet evening in front of the woodstove (really it's the tv that keeps us in that spot!!!).
