I was attempting to repair the damage caused by the "Hell Hounds" where they had scratched into the patio doors and we were installing brass "kick plates" to reinforce the stiles.

The "Hell Hounds" have been especially freaked out lately by all the gunfire as hunting season is upon us, and the hounds are most sensibly terrified of ricocheting shrapnel and explosions, but this has resulted in a marked escalation of their efforts to unhinge the patio doors with their claws.

We were placing the very last screw when the door exploded into a beautiful pattern of sparkles and lights.
