Music City
This photo was taken on Friday, but I'm uploading today, Sunday, at the end of a perfect weekend.
I went up to Nashville (hitching a ride with my boyfriend who had to drive to Murfreesboro for a Mock Trial competition) and spent the weekend with my best friends from undergrad.
Highlights of the weekend:
- Cafe Coco at 2 am. I ate chicken nuggets before I left Oxford, and by the time I got to Nashville around midnight, I was pretty hungry.
- Crema on Friday and Saturday. Since finals are coming up soon, I had to study a little bit. This coffee shop is just the cutest. I had a Cuban, which was one of the best coffee beverages I have ever had.
- Rose Pepper and Old Made Good. Many of my Nashville favorites are restaurants since I'm usually only passing through Nashville getting a meal with Vanessa. Rose Pepper was a sweet little restaurant in East Nashville. Old Made Good is a vintage shop not far away. I'm hoping Vanessa will get me a needlepoint they have that says "Haters gonna Hate" for Christmas.
- Love Circle Park which offers a lovely view of Nashville. It's where this photo was taken.
- Burlesque. One of my friends began burlesque classes in Nashville, and their graduating showcase was Friday. Not only does she love it, but she did so well. We were all very proud of her.
- Krispy Kreme. We drove all the way to the sketchy part of Nashville for donuts. What of it?
- Third Man Records. We didn't go inside, but Vanessa loves Jack White, so she drove me past his record shop/studio. She also told me about "It Might Get Loud" which I'm now dying to see.
- Saturday Night In. Vanessa and I went to Jamie's house and made food and watched a movie. We were starving when we went to Kroger to get food, so we got far too much. We took it home and listened to Springsteen on vinyl as we cooked. As one of them said, it looked like we threw a party and nobody showed up. We also watched "Any Day Now" which is the documentary about Ten out of Tenn.
- Boyfriend picked me back up this morning and we ate breakfast at Noshville.
I'm now back in Oxford. I'm so happy that I went to Nashville this weekend, though. I have a lot of work the next few weeks and I can't forget that, but my heart and soul are happy. Good friends have a habit of doing that :)
