A Typical Sight

With two friends I took a bus trip into the inner city of Christchurch - the Red Zone which has been closed to the public since the earthquake in February.
The City Council have decided it would be good for the people of Christchurch to have a look in the red zone at their city, now that the most of the dangerous buildings have been demolished. The trip lasts for 30 minutes, and travels slowly around a circuit, and at no time do you get off the bus.
There are so many empty sites, and it is very hard to work out or remember what was there.
There is machinery every where and rubble, where one day new buildings will rise from.
I was pleased to see it all with my own eyes, but there have been many photos in the papers, on TV and in books - so it was what I expected.
