Another Sunrise
When I awoke this morning the sky over Arran was bright red and on fire. Unfortunately, by the time I got dressed and down to the river it was far less intense but still wonderful.
It was quite windy, which meant there was little calm water for decent reflections. However, as the tide was out there were some pools of water near the break-water that reflected the sky nicely. The hills of Arran are in the background.
Thanks again for all the comments last week about what camera I should go for. I have decided its going to be a Canon SX40 bridge camera. My mind was made up yesterday when I met with the seller of a Canon EOS 400D. While he explained the functions of this DSLR camera, which was in mint condition, he also extolled the virtues of the camera he now used - a Canon SX 30. He reckoned that for a very small loss of picture quality over the DSLR he got an amazing x 35 zoom, superb macro capability and an ease of use that allowed him to capture shots he would otherwise miss. As he was a professional camera technician I trusted his views.
He laughed as he realised he had sold me the wrong camera! Ironically, the SX40 (the newer version of the SX30) was the first camera I looked at last week in Glasgow. Isn't that always the way of it!
Time now to search on line for the best price!
