High Pike 2157ft
There was a bitterly cold wind blowing today on the fells as we walked up High Pike from Calebrack!
High Pike is at 'back o' Skidda' and is rich in minerals. It has been said that 'Caldbeck Fells are worth all England else'. This is a happy hunting ground for students of geology. Our round trip walk took 3 hours. Chloe had a great time as all the sheep were off the fells, and she charged about at high speed!
Ros is reading what is written on the seat...it is a tribute to a 16 year old lad who died in 1944...'he loved these fells'.
Flippin 'eck! Yesterday's 'Tree' blip hit the Spotlight. That makes 10 Spotlights in the last 12 days!!! If you would like to see the same tree last December in the snow, please click here
