U10 Boys Championship!

Today was games 3 & 4 of the end-of-season tournament. Liam's U10 team won both games by a shutout yesterday, so they came in to today hoping they might win the championship. They won the morning game 3-1 and then went into the afternoon game playing the same team they played this morning. This team was playing very hard, so the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Then we went into a five-minute overtime which also ended in no goals scored. Then yet one more five-minute overtime which again ended in no goals scored. So the pressure was on as it was now time for penalty kicks to determine who was going to grab the victory. Liam was put in as goalie AND a kicker in the shoot-out! Oh how I stopped breathing. This SAME thing happened last year, his first year of soccer, where he was goalie in a shoot-out in the end-of-season tournament!!! Liam threw himself all over the place blocking balls and the game ended in a 4-2 victory!!!!! He did an amazing job blocking and he scored a goal when it was his turn to kick as well! Way to end the season, Sharks! I couldn't decide on just one picture, so I chose several. I really like the one of them standing up from piling on top of Liam congratulating him. :)
