Sorry again about the backblip, and also for the lack of one 'yesterday' Apparently I didn't take any photos then

Today I wasn't at school, but rather took the journey once again up to London to visit the 'Guildhall School of Music and Drama' for their Wind, Brass and Percussion open day. It's a fairly simple journey up there, and i've been once before so I was fairly happy finding my way there. And it was all fine until I got a bit confused on the tube. I got on a district line tube rather than a circle line, and although it didn't take me the wrong way, it did put me a bit out of sorts and I ended up being 5 minutes late.

The day as a whole was really good though. I'd recieved an email with a form asking which activites/workshops out of a selection I would like to participate in during the day. I ended up in a 'Presentation Skills workshop', a 'Flute Choir Session', a 'Trumpet Masterclass' and a 'Tour of the School'. The Presentation skills thing was led by one of the drama professors at the school, and was really good actually. It involved general confidence, but we also did lots of 'name' exercises progressing in difficulty. Which ended up with us abandoning our voices, linking with another person on the circle, and deciding without speaking or any actions when to 'meet' in the centre, and again when to 'leave'.

The other workshops were pretty good too, the flute choir session was led by Ian Clarke, a famous composer/flautist who i've actually met once before. And that was good fun, just playing through music but it was still nice. But on a whole, I found the place really friendly, all the staff were lovely and it was a nice atmosphere. They even organised tea and cakes in the final 'question and answer' session. I made lots of new friends too, helped by the name games in the first session!

After the open day though, I hung around for 2 hours because there was a concert being given at the Barbican next door. To which I could get free tickets, and they were playing music by Ravel which was lovely. I met up with Lucy too, who i've mentionned once or twice before because she's studying at Guildhall at the moment anyways. It was lovely to see her again and she'll be well chuffed to see herself on blip, and to read it. -she's totally a blipstalker ;)

The concert was really good though, but we had to leave as soon as they finished playing the last piece while everyone was clapping because I didn't want to miss my last train back and be stuck in London until 5.15am! However when I did get back to Victoria I was greeted by 'severe' delays. Luckily though, the way things worked out, they scheduled a new train that was 'superfast' only calling at about 3 stations before I needed to get off which is CRAZY! So i was only really 2 minutes later home than I had intended to be, even if I was stuck at Victoria for a while.

Anyways this photo is of myself and the lovely Lucy. She was meant to be in a blip a few weeks ago, but I never got round to backblipping it. I will do at some point but i'll get caught up first I think. It was a funny coincidence because I got my ticket earlier on in the day and as she's a student she gets free tickets too. So she got a ticket when we arrived at the barbican, and turned out that our seats were next to each other!
