There is a long-standing family joke that when I fix something, be it car, Dyson, or even computer, there is always a bit left over at the end.

They say it is because I am not very good at it.

I say that if I have fixed it, as in made it work again, and I have a bit left over, then I have made it more efficient, and should be congratulated!

After they restored Archerfield house several years ago, they had some bits left over.
