Ray of light

Light the final frontier, or should that be space?
What about the space between lights?
I thought light went in a straight line.
But these are bending.
Or should that be refracting?
Oh I am so confused.
Is this a time tunnel?
Or a stargate?
Or a secret entrance to an otherwise unknown dimension of Union Square?
Or should I go and have a lie down?
Shopping does that to me.
