Adorno
Frankfurt school intellectual Theodor Adorno basically believes in two things when it comes to music.
It can be split into two groups
1. Serious Music i.e Beethoven, Mozart, Bach - and they have to be consumed as a whole, as an authentic work of art.
2. Popular Music i.e Anything that isn't the above - this music has to be discarded as it is strictly a cultural commodity to distract/entertain the masses. Even if the music sounds authentic it is not. It is strategically bastardized to full you into thinking that.
Yeh whatever Theo!
