The churches in Cyprus were really magnificent. Even the smallest ones had so many carved and painted icons with every piece of wall and ceiling space painted with wonderful art work.
This one is a fairly new one , built , if I remember correctly, in 1992. Babmos , our very kind host at our hotel in Polis told us this was the most beautiful church in all of Cyprus and certainly the people we met their thought so as well. They were very proud of it's beauty and went round all the icons praying to each saint as they went. I did go to a Greek Orthodox service while I was there and felt very humbled by the strength of the belief and obvious sense of community.
